Grameen Foundation helps the world's poorest – especially women – improve their lives and escape poverty by providing them with access to appropriate financial services, life-changing information and unique income-generating opportunities. The MOTECH project, an initiative of Grameen, is an open source software platform for building mobile health solutions that improve health outcomes for the world's poor through access to relevant health information. Notable deployments include the Mobile Midwife program in Ghana, which provides pregnant women and their families with vital information about how to have healthy pregnancies, and the Ananya project in Bihar, which aims to improve outcomes in maternal/child health as well as TB treatment.

Projects

  • MOTECH-COMMCARE INTEGRATION 3.0 The project aims at enhancing CommCare module to improve integration with Task module by providing an intuitive UI to select actual CommCare form/case fields by means of field name. The project also strives to support multiple versions of forms provided by CommCare. A typical use case is when old forms are not synced with the latest versions of form. Project will also allow the capability to connect to multiple CommCareHQ servers and retrieve form/cases from all of the connected servers.
  • MOTECH-on-the-cloud: A Porting of MOTECH platform on Google App Engine This project brings MOTECH platform onto Google App Engine (GAE) cloud platform so that ease out all the installation and configuration cumbersome that a new user might encounter when setting things up. A cloud version of MOTECH also provides extra functionality for MOTECH application by utilizing GAE's provided services. Further, with MOTECH-on-the-cloud scalability and maintainability are covered automatically by the platform.
