The proposed project has its focus on building a topical classifier for dbpedia spotlight. Topical classification is a kind of text classification where we try to categorize a document or text fragment based on the general topic it discusses (e.g. Business, Politics, Sports). Word sense disambiguation will benefit from these topics by assigning the best fitting word sense to each word in the text with respect to the topic of the text.
