Create and implement an ikiwiki design template The NetBSD Project
Status: Closed Time to complete: 96 hrs Mentors: Julian Coleman, Julian Fagir Tags: wiki ui

NetBSD has a wiki which will hold large parts of the NetBSD documentation not in manpages. There have already been several tasks related to the transition to the wiki, both technical and editorial.
To make the wiki more appealing, we want to try out more designs. Your task is to design a modern wiki layout with the NetBSD corporate design (colours orange, grey and white) while staying xhtml-valid.
As there is already a large number of designs out there, you could as well take an existing design and refine it to fit NetBSD. But if you do so, you have to provide the sources and make sure everything is under a free licence.

The wiki used by NetBSD uses ikiwiki:
You have to provide s template which can be imported to NetBSD's ikiwiki.

The look of the design should be modern, but also lightweight. NetBSD users are usually very keen about design and simplicity, and prefer havinf a better usage over unneeded eye candy.
Please come in our IRC channel (see about where and how to get there) when claiming this task to discuss the exact requirements.

In the tgz are two folders, basedir and theme.

basedir contains the files to be placed in the base of the wiki and theme contains the page.tmpl, to be used as template.

I checked and the page should validate 100%.

I also made a screenshot of how it looks in firefox:
