Create NetBSD wallpapers The NetBSD Project
Status: Closed Time to complete: 24 hrs Mentors: Martin Husemann, Julian Coleman, Julian Fagir Tags: graphics

Currently, there are nearly no NetBSD wallpapers. The combination of beastie, the flag and the old logo (daemons on old computers), plus the very smooth NetBSD colours (orange, grey, white) should be a resource for nice wallpapers.

If you're fine with drawing on a computer or graphical programs (like The Gimp or Photoshop), this might be a nice and very creative task for you.

This task can be done multiple times and will be recreated as soon as it is claimed.

I would like to work on this task.

This task has been assigned to Ayush. You have 24 hours to complete this task, good luck!

Ayush on November 27 2012 08:33 UTC Ready for review

The work on this task is ready to be reviewed.

Aleksej Saushev on November 27 2012 09:20 UTC Source code?

Is it possible to describe how this was generated?

I know that it may sound picky, but consider it doesn't fit my screen resolution.

How can I adapt it in that case? (We're about opensource anyway...)

Julian Fagir on November 27 2012 11:34 UTC Nice

even if you cannot provide the sources, could you please provider higher resolutions, up to 2880x1800 (this is the resolution of the new Apple notebooks)?

Apart from that, the work is very nice! If you have further ideas, feel free to apply for this task again (it will be recreated).

Regards, Julian

Martin Husemann on November 27 2012 13:12 UTC Please provide "source"

A .psd or .xcf file would qualify as source in this case

Julian Fagir on November 27 2012 18:23 UTC Ok

ok, we accept this picture. But we would like to have it in a higher resolution (1920x1200 would be fine as well), and in another format (e.g. as a photoshop or gimp source file). You can fill another task with this.

Julian Fagir on November 27 2012 18:23 UTC Task Closed

Congratulations, this task has been completed successfully.

Ayush on November 28 2012 02:51 UTC Thanks for the feedback and accepting the task

I would be happy to create a few more wallpaper with higher and more varied resolutions and also upload the gimp(.xcf) file!

However I am not sure how to go about doing this now.

It says the task is closed and I cannot find it in the list of tasks anymore.

Julian Fagir on November 28 2012 11:48 UTC Say a time

yes, currently all wallpaper tasks are claimed and for now, we don't want to create further ones. Unfortunately, we cannot assign a task specifically to one student. If you say a time, we can recreate the task at that time and you can directly claim it.

Regards, Julian
