The task is to create a 30-60 second video to promote OI Countdown. The video shall enhance the experience for the OI Countdown Market description. You have all artistic freedom in creating the video. The video can be based on real life situations in which the application is used on a real Android device. IMPORTANT: Before you start, get early in touch with OpenIntents developers to discuss your concept. Optionally you may send early drafts of your concept or previous video work. If you do not present your concept at an early stage, OpenIntents reserves the right not to accept your final video entry.

Peli on January 3 2012 11:33 UTC Very nice

Very nice work. I'm quite impressed.

I have the following suggestions for improvement:

* Many times the time "0:00:00" is shown. Could this be changed, for example at 0:17: The 0:40:00 could be already already preset, and one sees that the pointer presses first the "Start" button, and while the countdown starts running, the text "Bake Cake" is entered. This shows the multitasking aspect of this app.

* At 0:29: "The only one worth using" you could show some other feature, like menu > ringtones or menu > set date (otherwise it is again showing 0:00:00)

* The first 5 seconds seem very long: Do you have possibilities to put very decent animation on the text? E.g. slowly zoom into the text, start earlier with a slower fade-out, ...? Or have 3 seconds only "OI Countdown" and then in the line below for the last 2 seconds additionally "is..." appearing, or something...

* 0:05: "multiple alarms": Can you fill the list with many alarms? 2 does not seem very impressive yet. Not all of them have to be running. Random ideas: Laundry (2:05:00), dish washer (2:20:00), walk dog (0:45:00), close windows (air thoroughly) (0:05:00), power nap (0:15:00), boil eggs (0:06:00), nap (1:30:00),  charge camera (3:30:00), take medicine (6:00:00), ... In this scene, some alarms could be running, and you could press "Start" on one or two more countdowns, while others stay idle.

In the description don't say "Promotional video", but make the description part of the promotion. For example you could list the user comments there: "OI Countdown is...", or provide useful links to the OI Countdown page at or in Market. Please also use both "OpenIntents", "Open Intents" and "Android" in the description so that people searching for these terms will find your video.
